Lawyer Li Yuhan has acted for 709 persecution cases and some more sensitive cases, which has made some departments and individuals hold a grudge against him. In addition, because some cases cannot get fair and reasonable rulings, the rights protection for many years has added trouble and opposition to local governments. Complaints and accusations from the judiciary and various departments made them very upset.
On October 9, 2017, the birthday of lawyer Li Yuhan, that is, when lawyer Li Yuhan returned to his hometown Shenyang for the holidays due to the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, and was ready to return to Beijing after the holiday, the Public Security Bureau of Heping District, Shenyang City, to avoid During the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, lawyer Li Yuhan caused them trouble. He deceived lawyer Li Yuhan to the Heping District Public Security Bureau and detained him illegally for nearly five years on the grounds of the “ice-melting operation” interview to solve problems left over from history. .
During these more than 1,700 days and nights, lawyer Li Yuhan was subjected to fertilization and physical injuries, torture, ill-treatment and inhumane treatment under extremely harsh conditions. Long-term detention, intimidation, coercion, forced confession and other tortures in violation of facts and laws.
On October 20, 2021, he was illegally detained for nearly four years and had his first trial, but it has been nearly a year without any news and results. After the first trial, lawyer Ji was unable to meet in Shenyang due to the busy work, the epidemic and other reasons. I am very worried about my sister’s health. In recent months, I can only temporarily hire a local lawyer in Shenyang to meet with me.
My sister, who is the same age as the Republic, is already an old man in her 70s. Over the years, due to long-term rights protection, the judgment of the case has not been able to be reasonably corrected, and the unjust case has still not been properly handled. His physical and mental health suffered a blow, and during the investigation period, he was tortured and abused, and other factors resulted in his suffering from coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, unstable angina pectoris, atrial fibrillation, hyperthyroidism, lumbar spondylolisthesis, intervertebral disc herniation, gastritis, gastric ulcer, Meniscus damage and other diseases.
Because these diseases can only be maintained by some analgesics and temporary drugs in the detention center, effective medical treatment and fundamental treatment cannot be obtained. In addition, the nearly five years of long-term detention, as well as the extremely harsh environment such as mental torture of forcibly confessing guilt in violation of facts and laws, made lawyer Li Yuhan’s physical condition deteriorating. Taking a variety of drugs leads to severe damage to stomach function, liver and kidney function, and sharp decline in vision and hearing. This is likely to become more serious, and the consequences will be unimaginable.
After the lawyer’s meeting last month, he reported that lawyer Li Yuhan’s health was not as good as before. He stumbled on crutches, his hair turned white, his ears and hearing were greatly reduced, and his eyesight was also reduced. The doctor said that there is macular degeneration of the fundus and needs to be treated. I hope to communicate with the judge and see if I can end the detention early through personal compromise guarantees, or allow me to go to a better hospital for examination and treatment.
I called the presiding judge, Xue Silin. After calling many times, I finally answered. As soon as I heard that it was me, Judge Xue said quickly. The results will come out soon, let me wait patiently. I told him what I had met and my thoughts, and he said he wanted to find out about the situation, and then report back and study it. Let me call him again next week.
It has been three weeks since this flash, and I can’t remember how many times I called Judge Xue. Most of the time, the line was busy, and occasionally no one answered when it was not busy. Anyway, the phone didn’t get through during this time! I don’t know why?
