Hello, we are human rights activists living in exile in different countries who have worked together with Ms. Liu Dongling these years. We are deeply shocked to learn that Ms. Liu Dongling, the leader of the Wall Demolition Movement, and her minor son have been denied asylum in Denmark.
She is a brave human rights defender who has helped numerous people in China whose homes were forcibly demolished by the government. After leaving China, she, along with Qiao Xinxin, who was kidnapped back to China by the Chinese government from Laos in a cross-border crackdown, initiated the Wall Demolition Movement human rights project to bring messages from the free world to China. She is also an important core member of the China Human Rights Accountability Database. She has made significant contributions to the cause of human rights in China, for which her family and friends have faced scrutiny and threats from the Chinese government. Her bank accounts and other assets in China have been unjustly frozen. Given the numerous cases of cross-border repression, we firmly believe that if she returns to China, she will certainly be sentenced and tortured, as evidenced by the persecution case of Qiao Xinxin.
Therefore, we earnestly request that your government carefully reconsider the decision on this case.
