“China Spring” Press Conference on the Resumption of the Publication and Symposium on the 40th Anniversary of the China Spring Democracy Movement
Dr. Wang Bingzhang founded the China Spring democracy movement in 1982, and launched the “China Spring” magazine in December of the same year.
It has been forty years so far, and Dr. Wang has been in prison for more than 20 years
The “China Spring” magazine, which has attracted global attention, has also experienced the passionate years, as well as weathered through lots of difficulties and challenges, just like the Chinese democracy movement.
“China Spring” was suspended for several years due to the facts such as Dr. Wang Bingzhang’s imprisonment and the CCP’s sabotage, but it has never stopped but actively participated in promoting democracy in China, and witnessed and recorded the Chinese strenuous and heroic struggle for freedom and democracy.
In recent years, the CCP has intensified its perverse actions, arbitrarily killing the grass-root people without hesitation, carrying out genocide against ethnic groups such as Uyghurs and Mongolians, turning Hong Kong into a prison port, using war aircraft and missiles to launch military threats against Taiwan, and taking advantage of the epidemic to implement strict and prison-like control measures .
Recently, the “White Paper Revolution” broke out in China and has stormed the country, calling for the overthrow of the totalitarian CCP and the implementation of a constitutional government of freedom, democracy and human rights.
On this occasion, the family members of Dr. Wang Bingzhang has registered the Alliance of China Spring Democracy Movement in Columbia, Canada,
to resume the “China Spring” and publish a monthly online version of the magazine, to enable it continue to be an important platform for reviewing, discussing and looking forward, to continuously promote and participate in the process of freedom and democracy in China.
We believe that this is the time of the times, and the time which the future calls, and this is the right time!
